Accuracy is a mechanic that determines whether an attack hits or misses. Not only does this determine whether an attack deals damage, but also whether certain effects will activate.
Explanation[]
When most Weapons attempt to attack, they roll their accuracy stat to determine whether the attack is successful. If it succeeds, the attack hits and attempts to deal damage. If it fails, the attack misses and will not deal any damage. Most weapons have a "base" accuracy stat that other sources can modify.
Certain mechanics may trigger every time a weapon successfully attempts to attack, regardless of whether the attack hits or misses. Others may only trigger when an attack hits, and still others may only trigger when an attack misses.
Mechanics that use accuracy[]
- Most weapons use accuracy, with the exception of Staff of Unhealing.
Mechanics that increase accuracy[]
- will increase accuracy by 5% per stack.
- Cursed Dagger - This and ⭐ items have +1% accuracy and +1% crit chance per debuff of your opponent.
Mechanics that decrease accuracy[]
Mechanics that ignore accuracy[]
- "On attack" effects will always trigger when a weapon successfully attempts to attack (AKA when not out of stamina). These items include Critwood Staff, Darksaber, Magic Staff, and Spectral Dagger.
- The Staff of Unhealing's effect always ignores accuracy, regardless of the source of healing.
- Weapons will still provide activations regardless if their attack hits or misses.
Mechanics that only trigger when a weapon hits[]
- "On hit" effects, such as from Hungry Blade, Hammer, and Emeralds placed in a Weapon socket.
- "On attacked" effects, such as from Wooden Buckler, Shield of Valor, Spiked Shield, and Topazes/Emeralds placed in an Armor socket will only occur when a weapon hits.
- will only heal if a Melee weapon deals damage, and so will only occur if the weapon hits.
- will only deal damage if a Melee weapon deals damage, and so will only occur if the weapon hits.
Mechanics that only trigger when a weapon misses[]
- Broom will trigger a stamina-free extra attack when the opponent misses. There is a small cooldown between activations that prevents an infinite loop between two Brooms.
- Fancy Fencing Rapier - On miss: gain 3 .
